The Big Party Where We
Happen to Get Married

SATURDAY, JULY 18, 2015
4:00 – 10:00

Sun Harvest Farm
Sun Prairie, Wisconsin

ATTIRE: Shirts suggested, but not required. Heels, not so good. Think 'farm casual'.

Sun Harvest Farm is the home of Steve and Kathy Coleman (Dave's parents), Jeanne, Mark, Elliot, and Abby Lydon (Dave's sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and niece). We visited for the Fourth of July in 2013, and although we weren't engaged yet, we knew that this was where we wanted to celebrate with family and friends. We know you'll fall in love with it too.

Fun Food Day

We met in DUMBO, Brooklyn where food trucks were our favorite lunch option. Madison also has a thriving food cart scene, so we’ve asked some of the local favorites to cater our party. We hope you'll enjoy this unique take on wedding fare.

Check out our lineup below...

Curd Girl

Curd Girl sources her curds from Maple Leaf Cheese Factory out of Monroe—one of Wisconsin’s best known cheese making communities and her hometown. "The best curdz that we have had in Madison, hands down. The numbers don’t lie. The Curd Girl knows curdz." — chzcurds.com

The Smokin' Cantina

The popular pick is their “Bacon on a Stick” — a ridiculously large slab of thick-cut bacon speared onto a stick. "The Smokin' Cantina is Bryan "Bing" Bingham, cooking up fantastic local sustainable food on an old school wood-fired smoker."

BANZO

Owner, Netalee, learned to make hummus from her grandmother as a child in Israel. It's a two-day process and the end product is truly amazing. "I have seen Madison's food cart future, and its name is Banzo." — Linda Falkenstein, Isthmus

UMAMI

Ten years ago, native New Yorkers Randy Ng and Michael Ding were friends in Brooklyn who regularly played basketball together and daydreamed about opening a dumpling shop. "Sleek and savory Umami is worth the dry cleaning bill." — Lindsay Christians, Madison.com

BATCH BAKEHOUSE

Batch Bakehouse makes bread and pastry the old-fashioned way: before dawn, from scratch, using local ingredients. Each piece is carefully crafted by hand. "Our mind is towards quality and doing what we have to do to get there. Our focus on local is more on our customers and getting to know them." — head baker and part-owner Ian Garthwait

We can't tell you what not to eat, but if you visit Dane County's Farmer's Market on the Capitol Square Saturday morning, maybe don't visit these carts so you'll have something new at the farm.

The "Afters"

In Ireland, the festivities that continue after the wedding meal are referred to as the "afters." Once the buses take our sorry asses back downtown, we'll clean ourselves up a bit and head to Brocach Pub (Gaelic for Badger Den, pronounced Brokaw), right on the Capitol Square (7 West Main Street). We'd love for you to join.

Sunday at noon, if you want to wake yourself up in Lake Monona, we'll be heading there for some swimming at the B.B. Clarke Beach Park (835 Spaight St). It's only a 15-minute walk (0.8 mile) from the Capitol. You can also ask the hotel to take you there since it's within their free, 2-mile shuttle service radius. Bring some snacks but no 'hair of the dog.' It's a public beach. But it's mostly grass. It's the perfect place to chill in the shade or the sun after a long night of gettin' down with your bad self. There are restrooms and water fountains (bubblers), but no food for sale. Weather permitting ... we'll leave a notice with each hotel's reception desk and update this website.

Thanks.

We want to thank everyone for being part of this special day and for all the love and support you've given us throughout the years. Even if you are not able to attend, you will be with us in spirit. We're excited to start this next chapter together and we look forward to having many more good times with all of you.

In lieu of a gift, please consider making a charitable donation to to Food Bank for New York City or  Breakthrough. Both missions are important to us. Dave volunteered in the Bronx feeding those in need and Elizabeth advocated for survivors of violence and sexual assault at various Queens hospitals.

We are asking our guests to share their wonderful party pics with us via the WedPics app (Wedding ID: EODave). Everyone's got a smartphone these days, right? Oh, sorry Agnes. It's super easy to download the free app for both Apple and Android. Once you're in, you upload away (before, during, or after the big party). And for those of you who Instagram, we're going to be using the hashtag #EODave.
